It feels great to be back in the saddle again as Wax.
This album brings together six new songs we recorded in California over the past couple of years, two previously unreleased tracks from the archives, and many of our favorites from Eighties album. Hope you like it.

ちょっと解説 : WAX再始動？といわれたベスト＋未発表曲集

1997年発売のベスト＋未発表曲集。
ここでしか聴けない新曲が7曲あるため準オリジナルアルバム＝4作目としておきます。

新曲7曲（上の緑の部分）は1996～97年ごろ、カリフォルニアのアンドリュー・ゴールドのQブレイン・スタジオで録音されている。<*>をつけたCan Anybody See Youは、グレアムのソロ「And Another Thing」にも彼のボーカルで再収録されたが、ここではアンドリューのボーカルによるオリジナルバージョン。本作発売は「Common Knowledge Com」が出る前だったので、コモン・ノレジ名義の15「Holiday」と16「One More Heartache」も初出だった。

このアルバムは1998年に日本盤も発売されている。帯に「ＷＡＸ再始動」「８年ぶりの新作」と書かれていて、何とも苦しい宣伝だな～と思ったのだが、あながち間違いでもなかったようだ。原盤発売元の英Domeレコード自体、この新作コピーを使っていたし。ジャケ裏でも復活を匂わせるような、意味深いなライナー（上の英文参照）が入っている。結局、発掘音源が2枚出たが、WAXとしての完全復活は2002年現在実現していない。

既発曲9曲はBGMからライセンスを受けて編集したもの。最後のThank You For Being A FriendはシングルB面のアルバム未収録曲。前年(1996)に似たような名前のWax Worksという編集盤が出ているが、そちらにはシングルB曲・アルバム未収録だったLonely Boy（ライブ）収録のみで、他にレア曲はなかった。

なおこの後、Dome Recordは、WAXの5枚目Common Knowledge Com、グレアムのAnd Another Thing、アンドリューのThe Spencer Manor Suiteも出している。
